hm...i think the word chinaman is deragatory because all the bad stereotypes that pops up in mind when the word is mentioned. even when used in a joking way, it is still associated with the negative aspects of being chinese. when i hear the word chinaman, i think FOB, can't speak/understand english, smell like moth balls and things like that. even though it can be similar to the N word for black people, black people can call each other that and it'll be perfectly fine. you don't see chinese people calling each other chinaman, only when they are making fun of each other.

Well, I'm just going to begin training tomorrow. If I pass the training, I will be the instructional aide of an after-school reading program for elementary school kids in oakland. It's only going to be three 2-hour days in the weekdays, so I'll still be working at h2o on the weekends...hehe so Jessica, you don't have to worry about your h2o hook up. Well at least not yet....hehe =)
Guess what I found out when I was working this weekend....Mc Donalds is closed! YEAH, the one on Powell St.! The Mc Donalds that has the most business in SF is closed! AIYA!
