It's me, Hung Jeng Chi a.k.a. Commander Cool.
The man in the picture has always been my image of courage. He didn't actually get run over.
To read more about him click here. It happened on June 5th, a day after the PLA massacred over 700 people... but he still did what he did.
Thanks for the links Ray!

We were only 7 or 8 when this happened... but I'm wondering, does anyone remember this?
I didn't understand what was going on at the time, but I remember my dad took me and my brother to a protest in downtown and Chinatown after this happened.
I think I post too much.

Hey Stanley,
If you liked Catcher in the Rye, then you'll love Nine Stories.

You are being closed minded. Instead of dealing with people on a case by case basis, you let the little experience you have with Asian guys determine whether or not you'll date them. Yet, I'm pretty sure that if a white guy were to ever treat you bad, you'd still give the next white guy a shot. How is that being open minded? If you are into the white guys, that's fine... but don't bash Asian guys in the process.
I've dated white girls before. It was a bad experience, and I'll never date one again. How's that for open minded? JK
It was a good experience with the white chicks, but based on that experience, I realize I need someone who understands Asian culture... Asian girls are the best.
Sarah is the coolest. :)

"Yellow" isn't a novel; It's not a fictional story. It's a collection of first-person narratives and anecdotes about life as an Asian-American. It's a very progressive outlook on the direction of Asian-American culture and political awareness. He tackles things like Affirmative Action (which he supports), the model minority myth, and the perpetual foreigner myth in addition to many others. He takes a very left liberal view on many issues, and even if you are more conservative minded, it's still a great read. Overall, it's a very important book for Asians and for America. :)
Hey! Does anyone have any book recommendations?

You're pretty closed minded yourself since you generalize an entire group of people based on your experience with 1½ Asian guys.
And, I would never in a million years tell you to date an Asian guy. Don't worry.. :)

Is everyone on Raymond's site Asian?
Have any of you ever read "Yellow" by Frank Wu? If yes, what did you think about it? If no, then go read it.
I understand that most here have school commitments, but you can still read the book during your leisure time... no one studies all day long! I'm curious to know people's reaction to the book.
I cut out the personals in a Hong Kong free newspaper while I was there... and 90% of the ads read like the above.
So... what's up with Asian girls and white guys?
